Detailed Tour Plan (July 2027)

Arrival Day: (July 11, 2027) - Transfer from Airport to Moshi
You will be warmly welcomed at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. Meet your lead mountain guide for a thorough briefing and gear check before resting for the night.


Day 1: (July 12, 2027) - Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Distance: 11 km / 7 miles
Hiking Time: 5–7 hours
Elevation: 5,380 ft to 9,350 ft
Habitat: Rain Forest

Drive from Moshi through local mountain villages to the Machame Gate. After registration and park formalities, begin your hike through the lush rainforest trail to reach Machame Camp.
Day 2: (July 13, 2027) - Machame Camp to Shira Cave Camp
Distance: 5 km / 3 miles
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Elevation: 9,350 ft to 12,500 ft
Habitat: Heath & Moorland

A shorter but steeper day taking you out of the forest onto steep moorland ridges. Enjoy panoramic views of Kibo peak, the surrounding plains, and Mount Meru in the distance.
Day 3: (July 14, 2027) - Shira Cave Camp via Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Distance: 10 km / 6 miles
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours
Elevation: 12,500 ft to 15,190 ft down to 13,044 ft
Habitat: Alpine Desert

Traverse the high moorland beneath the imposing Lava Tower (4,600m). Following the golden mountaineering rule of "walk high, sleep low," this day provides crucial acclimatization before descending to sleep at Barranco Camp.
Day 4: (July 15, 2027) - Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
Distance: 9 km / 5 miles
Hiking Time: 8–10 hours
Elevation: 13,044 ft to 15,331 ft
Habitat: Alpine Desert

Climb the challenging Barranco Wall and traverse desolate scree slopes toward Barafu High Camp. Rest early, hydrate, and prepare for the midnight summit push.
Day 5: (July 16, 2027) - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
Distance: 5 km ascent / 7 km descent
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours (asc.) & 2–4 hours (desc.)
Elevation: 15,331 ft to 19,341 ft down to 12,434 ft
Habitat: Arctic to Heath

Begin your summit attempt around midnight up steep scree slopes. Reach Stella Point (5,739m) by sunrise and continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m)—the rooftop of Africa! Descend back via Stella Point and Barafu Camp for a brief rest before heading down to Millennium Camp.
Day 6: (July 17, 2027) - Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate & Return to Moshi
Distance: 12 km / 7 miles
Hiking Time: 5–7 hours
Elevation: 12,434 ft to 5,380 ft
Habitat: Rain Forest

A gentle final descent through the scenic rainforest takes you to Mweka Gate, where you receive your official summit certificates. Private transport will take you back to Moshi for celebratory drinks and a well-deserved rest.
