OUR HISTORY
In 2004, Richard started his tourism career as a Kilimanjaro porter, gaining valuable first-hand
experience of the mountain, its challenges, and the needs of climbers. His determination and love
for the craft led him to pursue formal training in tourism, earning an Advanced Certificate in
Tourism and becoming KINAPA-certified, including specialized medical and mountain safety training.
Today, he is also an active member of the Kilimanjaro Guides Association.
After years of hard work, skill-building, and guiding countless clients to successful summits and
safaris, Richard established Pamoja Kilimanjaro & Safaris. The company was built with a mission to offer
authentic experiences that combine local expertise, safety, and personalized care—reflecting both his humble
beginnings and his unwavering commitment to excellence.
