8-Day Advanced Tanzania Serengeti Camping Safari

Overview

An 8-day camping safari to northern Tanzania is a budget program designed to suit small budgets and with a focus to Tarangire and Serengeti national parks plus Ngorongoro crater in a long safari in “the Serengeti plain”. The areas offer many attractions including world largest animal migration, the big 5 wildlife safaris and much more. The package has also great tour to Tarangire the home of Largest Elephant and Ngorongoro crater the rim of complete ecosystem in one crater floor.

Tour Plan

After breakfast, your driver/guide, will be ready at your hotel to pick you head into the Tarangire National Park for a game drive. The park has great landscapes including plain known as small Serengeti, Tarangire river which act as major magnet for animals during dry season. It’s natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. The park also offers large number of Buffaloes, Zebras, Wildebeest, Giraffes, Lions, Cheetah, Leopards, Impalas, Gazelles, warthogs, and wild dogs which are occasional seen. The park is also enriched with birds with more than 400 species. During the lunch hour we will stop at picnic site for lunch and continue with game drive until evening when we drive to the campsite for overnight. Overnight at public campsite.
After breakfast we exit Tarangire and head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park Overnight at public campsite.
On this day, you will enjoy a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park. After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for a game drive along the Sogore River circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River. This is an adventure view for spotting lion, gazelle, topi, ostrich, and cheetah. There is a tourists’ center, close to public campsites, which is a well worth breathtaking after morning game drive The center offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop where you can purchase information leaflets and maps of the area. The Kopjes circuit going counterclockwise around the Maasai Kopjes is there for your afternoon game drive after lunch. On this tour, you will have the chance to view more lion and some formidably large cobra. Overnight at public campsite.
After breakfast, you will leave from Lodge to go to northern Serengeti to witness the wildebeest’s migrations crossing the Mara River and see the Nile crocodiles’ adventures or your driver can opt to take you to western corridor of Grumeti River, depending where to find wildebeests migration. Overnight at public campsite.
After breakfast we will continue our game drive in northern Serengeti the best day to witness the wildebeests. Box lunch is provided. Dinner and overnight at 3 STARS lodge.
This day will be spent on a game drive in the Serengeti. You will drive from Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti to watch migration. During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June they return up central Serengeti, while in July to October they are in North Serengeti. The yearly trek is determined by the rainfalls and the location of the herds might vary from year to year but your guide will know where to find the animals and where to see them best. Apart from wildebeests and zebras you will also spot predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs as well as all big fives. Overnight at public campsite.
After breakfast we continue with game drive until lunch time. After lunch we head to Ngorongoro for overnight. On the way we can experience the Maasai traditional life and experience a little bit of these cultural people lives in the Ngorongoro conservations. Overnight at public campsite.
After early breakfast we will descend over 600 meters into the crater for a game drive for a half day’s safari tour. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants, another big draw card to this picturesque national park, its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. This is only the pack that you can see easily black Rhino than any other park. We will have lunch in the picnic site. In the afternoon, after lunch we depart the crater and drive back to Arusha or airport drop off.
