Guts2Glory Crazy Chick Kilimanjaro Challenge 2020 I need you to understand that our group consisted of 3 Wheelchair athletes and 2 Amputees and 3 supporting Athletes and Sigi who runs Sigi Children Centre. Only Barbara and myself had summited Kilimanjaro before. I chose this route due to the huts which were better for the wheelchair athletes to sleep in but also so they had privacy when it came to their toilet system. I chose Pamoja Kilimanjaro & Safaris as I had worked with Richard before and we both wanted Richard to specialize in working with people with disabilities. We both learned many lessons along the way and you can be rest assured, Richard will be more that qualified to cater for you every need. As with most businesses, the Start up is never easy but you learn along the way. Of course we had problems. Nothing was a glamorous as it seemed but at the end of the day we had 2 wheelchair athletes and 1 amputee who summited to Gilmans Point. That indeed was a job well done. The wheelchairs were not perfect for this event and the guides almost died trying to get them up that mountain. The weather was viscous but we did it. I wish I could have given every guide who helped us summit that day 1000 dollars. They deserved so much more. To Nasaroo who climbed almost all the way to the top to bring Frank and I soup. Nasaroo is the waiter who catered for our every need. Possibly everything that could go wrong went wrong on this trip but Richard and his crew managed to save the day EVERY day. After the event I realized that even though I had my moments of frustration because I wanted the best for each athlete, Richard and his crew had done an EXCELLENT JOB considering we did NOT have the right equipment but Richard was not to blame. At the end I felt guilty for not being able to give the team more money as they worked blood, sweat and tear!!! This was our first trip together with Physically Challenged Athletes and it WON'T be the last. Philemon, Clifford and Zizipho, Frank and I received our beautiful certificates confirming that we had indeed summited to Gilmans Point. Only a fool would have tried to get to the Main Peak under such severe weather conditions. We all returned to the hotel absolutely exhausted but with a Huge sense of achievement. We will NEVER be the same again. Congratulations to: Clifford Martin - Wheelchair Athlete Lesibana Masela - Wheelchair Athlete Tarryn Tomlinson - Able2Travel, LiveAble - Wheelchair Athlete Wendy Leid - LiveAble - Amputee Zizipho Ndlwana - Amputee Barbara Giddy - Supporting Athlete Frank Driesler - Supporting Athlete Sigi Frid - Sigi's Children Centre - Supporting Athlete I was indeed humbled by this experience. Wonderful memories ○Climbing Mt.Kilimanjaro tour We climbed Kilimanjaro in six days from the Marangu route. I was able to climb safely and descend safely thanks to the guides. They considerd us very safe. They climbed slowly for us. And they entertained us. I remember their Swahili lessons and songs.I was very encouraged when I was hard. Main guide August said that no one left behind. Leo ,Emma, Honesty took me down safety from a dangerous snowy road. Edward's food was always delicious. Nasoro took care of us every day and brightened our mood. Thanks to you and our team, climbing Kilimanjaro has become an unforgettable and precious memory. I like August, Leo, Edward, Nasoro, Emma ,Honesty and our team members. They are nice guy. I owe them a lot. I would like to meet them if I go to Tanzania.Asante sana. ○Walking Arusha city tour We were guided by Leo, who guided us on the Kilimanjaro tour. He stayed at Arusha the day before and came all the way. I really appreciate that. And we were able to safely explore the city thanks to him. He showed me various places and took me to a delicious local restaurant. It was very fun. Asante sana. ○To Richard. I'm glad I chose your company tour. That's because you made the best guides and teams on the climbing tour. I could make the best memories and I love Tanzania. If I go to Tanzania next, I will choose your company. Now I'm interested in Machame route. Thank you for preparing a good tour.Asante sana.

A Harrasment by a Safari Guide I experienced sexual harassment from a safari tour guide Albert and when I reported the matter they did not address it but replaced him the next day. This company has shown that they do not take women’s safety issues seriously as they did not seem serious about finding a solution; Moreso, the boss Richard didn't seem bothered or show any remorse or empathy towards my experiences ... from my interactions with the company ‘I would not NEVER recommend it at all’ especially for women travelers who care about their safety. I also felt that there was lack of professionalism by the company, in terms of handling clients in various situations such as myself. I would assume that they go through training on how to handle guests, but it seems that this may not have been the case. It is a shame because it happens on my holidays, my friends and I (we were 4 in maximum) took almost whole our trip* with this company in Tanzania from 25th December to 6th January. *Hotels - they changed to a countryside one from the town, so it was inconvinience. *Waterfall Tour - They offered in last minutes not to let us think and not well explain espcially that we need to wear the trecking shoes not sneakers. *6 days Marangu Route - There are some points that there were not good for emergency, one has been discussed by my friend, but the one who got altitude couldn’t get helicopter though she could cover by her insurance and forced to go down by herself. Then she asked the stretcher but it took time to arrange it. *3 days Safari Tour - On the beginning of the second day, a sexual harassment incident happened. *Arusha Walking Street Tour - We requested the guide we know, so it was safe.

2 day safari Richard was amazing from start to finish. He catered for all of my needs from meeting me the day before safari and bringing me to Arusha and then visiting me the day after my safari to make sure it went ok. The safari was amazing with an amazing guide. We went to tarangaire and ngorongoro. It was a very fair price and we were all extremely happy with them. I would highly recommend pamoja.

Safari Trip with the best Guide! I was not the person who did all the pre-planning with Pamoja Kilimanjaro so I can't speak to the administrative side of things but my safari experience with them was excellent! We did the "budget" safari (tenting it with our own cook) and overall I was pleased that going the less expensive route turned out to be just fine (I'm not a big camper so that says a lot). With that being said, my next safari will be at a "tented lodge" which is the next step up, with beds off of the ground and food that does not need to be prepared everyday by your own cook, which ends up taking a lot of time. The vehicle we were in was very well maintained and really comfortable. There were only 3 of us so we had lots of room to move around. There was a refrigerator for drinks and our guide always had cold water ready for us. There were also outlets to charge phones and camera batteries. I do believe that a really good safari experience depends a lot on the guide so it's important to mention here that our guide, Chris, was superb! His knowledge about the different parks and animal behavior was incredible and he always managed to get us up close to some really great action. We saw lions eating zebra, hippos and antelope (Oh my!). I really believe his knowledge and experience added so much value to our trip. I would definitely request Chris if you're planning to use Pamoja Kilimanjaro. Our cook, Vincent, was very good as well. His food was delicious and he was very pleasant to be around. I have no experience with other camps so I'll just say that the camps we stayed at were very basic and not super clean but at the end of the day we were tired and happy from our day so we learned to ignore some things that sometimes come with doing things on a budget. I would definitely talk with Pamoja about the different camps to see if bumping up the price a little would give you a cleaner bathroom and cleaner dining area. One of the camps had a few small critters in the early morning hours in the dining room (you're in the middle of the Serengeti so it's not surprising) because the area was not enclosed so if that bothers you, make sure you investigate all the camps and talk with Pamoja thoroughly about different options. Richard and Thomas at Pamoja Kilimanjaro met with us a few days prior to our safari and were patient with all of our questions and they were so nice. They really want to make sure you have the best experience possible. I'm giving a rating of 5 stars because I have no complaints and my safari experience was excellent but it was my first safari so I don't have anything else to compare it to. I think having no complaints says a lot though. Would I use them again? For sure!

5 day safari Wonderful 5 day safari - the driver/guide was patient, knowledgeable and a careful driver. He knew where the animals were. The cook did a great job with limited facilitates. Make sure to discuss all the logistics with the owner before you go. Overall, highly recommended.
